Liv has worked as a Buyer and Product Developer in the fashion industry for the last 10 years and her most recent role was developing and buying silk accessories for a luxury British retailer. However unfortunately, due to the coronavirus pandemic, she was made redundant from her buying role when the company fell into administration during the summer 2020.
Liv decided to combine her experience and passion for creating beautiful products with her knowledge of fabric and supplier contacts to launch Liv Lindley Silk Studio. Liv Lindley sources Grade 6A, 100% Mulberry silk which is recognised as the finest quality in the world. The momme refers to the density of the silk fibre; all of her designs are either 19mm or 22mm, which she decides depending on the product type and it’s end use. She believes 19mm and 22mm provide the perfect combination of durability, practicality and affordable pure luxury. The product range includes pure mulberry silk accessories and gorgeous gifts, such as pillowcases, eyemasks, facemasks, scrunchies and dressing gowns. The many benefits of silk are detailed within the company’s ‘Silkology’, which you can find attached.
The Science of Silk
Recommended by dermatologists, silk in naturally breathable, meaning acne breakouts, irritation and redness flare-ups are minimised.
Silk is naturally hypoallergenic and anti-bacterial, perfect for anyone who has allergies or sensitive skin.
Silk fibres are much less absorbant than other materials, helping skin retain it's moisture and stay hydrated. The result: a more glowing complexion.
Our silk pillowcases provide cooling comfort and our eye masks block out light to improve quality of sleep. Switching to silk can result in a deeper more restful sleep.
The smooth fibres of our silk pillowcases are far more gentle against your skin in comparison to cotton. Over time this can minimise the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
Whilst synthentic fibres trap heat, our silk dressing gowns and pillowcases regulate body temperature keeping you cool and relaxed.
The amino acids contained in silk help retain moisture in your scalp and ends, adding lustre to your hair's overall appearance. The frictionless surface also reduces thinning, frizz and split ends.
Our silk is free from toxic dyes, we only use eco-friendly dyes, certified STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX
There is nothing quite like the feeling of our mulberry silk against your skin. Wearing our luxurious robes will make you feel like the goddess you are!
